Who am I?
My passion for photography was sparked in 1980 when I was given my first SLR camera as a graduation present. Over the years I have developed my skill in photography, first with film and now with digital. Over the last 30 years I have won awards for my photographs and in 2002 I became an Associate of the Photographic Society of South Africa (APSSA). I had to submit 18 colour prints to the Photographic Society of South Africa and these were judged nationally and then I was awarded my Honours in Photography. Refer to my APSSA panel here.
In 2013 I was awarded the life-time achievement medal by the Cape Town Photographic Society. I am passionate about landscape photography and macro work. I see the beauty in the big picture as well as the small. Just watching a landscape change in the low light at dawn and dusk is ever so exciting for me. There is a special kind of magic which I try to capture in the sweet light of dawn and dusk. With my landscapes I try to convey the scene as I see it, with all the passion and beauty captured in a single photo.
There is a great deal of beauty in the very small. I try to capture this with my macro work. I love to create abstract images from the inner parts of flowers. The details, which are so often overlooked by others, fascinate me.
I hope you enjoy looking through my website and that my images speak to you as much as they do to me.
